Wnaeth Alan cerdded heibio hwn yn y siop a wedyn nes i cerdded heibio fe a wedodd y ddau ohono ni fod ni’n hoffi fe. Hanner awr o cerdded o gwmpas Caerfyrddyn a penderfynnon ni fod e werth yr arian.

Alan walked past it and liked it – 5 minutes later I walked past it and liked it. Mutually agreed that we LOVED it! Half an hour wandering around Carmarthen and we decided it was worth the money.

Fits better than the old lamp that was there.

After the crack, the stripping and the smoothing came the painting…

roedd y lliw gyntaf yn edrych fel fod ni di peintio’r wall efo’r kitty litter… felly daeth 3 cot o lliw arall

the first colour looked  like we’d painted the walls with kitty litter… so we followed it with 3 coats of a better colour

Pale green gloss on bits of the woodwork, radiators and the doors – Dulux Apple White

Cot o paent gwyn i’r waliau, y ffenest, y to a’r skirting

Coat of white paint on the walls, the window, the ceiling and the skirting. Who knew there was so much wood in this house.

After sorting the crack it was time to start stripping – the wall paper

Pasg 2011

Easter 2011

Cafon ni bron pythefnos ffwrdd o gwaith dros y Pasg gyda gwyliau banc a gwyliau gwaith. Yn lle mwynhau’r haul yn yr ardd penderfynon ni dechrau ar y DIY! Ar ol 4 mis yn byw yma ac yn dod i nabod y ty di ni’n deall beth sydd angen neud a beth sydd yn ‘ok’ am nawr. Y peth gyntaf roedd yn gorfod mynd oedd y blydi dolphins!! Felly dechreuodd 8 diwrnod o waith caled…

We had nearly 2 weeks off over Easter what with bank holidays and annual leave. Instead of enjoying the sun in the garden we decided to begin on the DIY. After 4 months of living here we’d come to know the house a little and see what needed doing and what was ok for the time being. The first thing to go had to be the bloody dolphins!! And so 8 days of hard labour were to  follow…
